Xolo Maridueña – On-Camera Presenter

Xolo Maridueña (star of Cobra Kai and Blue Beetle) is the on-camera presenter of this original documentary film featuring the untold stories of eleven children of migrant farmworker parents. Some grew up with seemingly overwhelming hardships including homelessness, hunger and poverty. Six of the eleven, Lisa Ramirez, Ed.D, M.Ed., Raul Ruiz, MD, MPH, MPP, Ramon Resa, MD, Katherine Flores, MD, Apple engineer, Enrique Diaz, and Attorney, Brandon Guzmán worked full-time as farm laborers themselves, beginning as young as six years of age (and even younger).

Today they are medical doctors, lawyers, research scientists, engineers, educators, medical professors, and others are leaders elected to the U.S. Congress and California state government. Their impressive accomplishments include authoring hundreds of scientific research papers published in The New England Journal of Medicine; contributing to the engineering of pivotal Apple products and teaching medicine at the Stanford School of Medicine and the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. 

Becoming elite professionals in defiance of such odds and adversity, is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Their ability to turn childhood poverty and hardship into personal and professional triumph is a timely reminder of what is possible for all (now and throughout history). Showcasing the unlimited human potential of every child, no matter background or circumstances. Demonstrating why each and every child (human) is to be treated with dignity, considered to be of equal importance, and as such, afforded every opportunity to flourish.
